The Book of Alternative Services says that "marriage is a public service of the Church. It should therefore be solemnized…in the presence of friends and neighbours of those who come to be married and of the congregation of the Church." We are always delighted to speak to anyone who is interested in getting married in the Cathedral, in the hope that we can help make your special day as glorious and memorable as possible.
Weddings range from small ceremonies in the intimacy of the Lady Chapel to grand and formal celebrations in the Cathedral itself featuring the beauty of our liturgy and Choir.
Preparation for your wedding will involve a few meetings with the priest who is to perform the ceremony as well as a marriage preparation course. For more information, please contact the Cathedral office.
